  Section 7010 of the America COMPETES Act requires that researchers funded in whole or in part by NSF report on the outcomes of the funded research for the general public. Project Outcome Reports describe the project outcomes or findings, addressing the intellectual merit and broader impacts of the work as defined in NSF merit review criteria.   Since 1966 the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has been collecting panel data on race/ethnic and gender employment patterns from private sector workplaces, unions, state and local governments, and elementary and secondary schools. Collectively these represent the largest and longest organizational panel datasets in the world on any substantively focused social science topic. These data have only recently ...more »

  Since 1966 the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has been collecting panel data on race/ethnic and gender employment patterns from private sector workplaces, unions, state and local governments, and elementary and secondary schools. Collectively these represent the largest and longest organizational panel datasets in the world on any substantively focused social science topic. These data have only recently become broadly available to social scientists. They also represent the best sources of data on where in the economy citizens might encounter equal employment opportunity, but are currently unavailable to citizens. Making all of some of these data available would be a real resources to citizens and the scientific community.
